Frank Gucciardo, PA-C, BS, MPA

Clinical Studies Coordinator, Kronos Longevity Research Institute

Frank Gucciardo is the Clinical Studies Coordinator for Kronos Longevity Research Institute (KLRI). He assists with planning and the preparation and submission of research protocols to institutional review boards. He is a board-certified physician assistant and manages all aspects of the Clinical Science Center, including protocol planning and implementation, recruitment of study subjects and data research collection.

For nearly eight years, Mr. Gucciardo delivered primary care in a number of patient settings, including surgery, occupational medicine and emergency medicine. In 1980, he joined the faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch in the Physician Assistant Studies program. After achieving the rank of Assistant Professor, he established the first geriatrics rotation for Texas physician assistant students. In 1984, he returned to New York to practice geriatric medicine. He joined the Veterans Administration in 1985 to serve the veteran psychiatry population, applying his skills in the inpatient locked wards, the inpatient open wards, gero-psychiatry wards and the substance abuse detox and rehabilitation unit.

As a newly commissioned Lieutenant Commander, Mr. Gucciardo began a 10-year stint with the United States Public Health Service, starting in 1990. He spent two years delivering care to federal prisoners; one year serving the Gila River Indian Community; and seven years as a Research Associate with the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases. He achieved the rank of Full Commander (O-5) in 1995 and separated from the United States Public Health Service in 1999.

Mr. Gucciardo completed the Physician Assistant Studies Program with cum laude honors at Long Island University in 1973, later returning to graduate with honors in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. He attended Syracuse University in 1977 to complete a Masters in Public Administration.
