Education Program

At KLRI, we recognize the importance of educating the general public and the scientific community with the latest research on aging and the prevention of age-related diseases. KLRI offers helpful educational programs and newsletters that communicate up-to-date information on aging and disease prevention to help individuals, families and caregivers make better healthcare decisions.

Progress in Longevity Medical Seminar Series (PLMSS)
PLMSS are seminars that provide practicing physicians and other healthcare providers with key, up-to-date topical information on the latest medical research and advancements in aging and longevity, so that they can relate vital health information to their patients. PLMSS is accredited by the University of Arizona for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. We present world-renowned featured guest speakers who are experts in the fields of aging, geriatrics, hormones, genetics, antioxidants and other supplementation, cognitive function and dementia, exercise, metabolic rate and various diseases and treatments.

Longevity Kronicle
Anyone seeking a healthier lifestyle is encouraged to read the Longevity Kronicle, KLRI's quarterly newsletter exploring a wide-range of topics on health, nutrition, exercise, preventive medicine, dietary supplements, hormonal balance, and sensible personal habits. The articles are designed to be scientifically informative in a language that is easy to understand. Readers are also given the opportunity to ask questions through the "Ask the Director" column.

Kronos Early Estrogen Prevention Study (KEEPS) Newsletter
The KEEPS newsletter is a national publication distributed by KLRI and eight universities—Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Columbia University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center, University of California-San Francisco, University of Utah, University of Washington, and Yale University. Content focuses on one of the hottest topics in women's health—hormone therapy (HT) and menopause. Women are faced with many unanswered or confusing questions when they attempt to make a decision on whether or not they should use HT during menopause. Furthermore, conflicting sources of information from the media make this decision even more difficult. The KEEPS newsletter helps sift through the clutter, providing up-to-date information on symptoms and treatments, while answering questions that are most frequently asked by women as they enter menopause.

Health on Education and Longevity (HEAL)
HEAL is a series of educational presentations intended to communicate fact-based, up-to-date information on aging and disease prevention. HEAL educates the public on how to make the best choices possible regarding their health and well-being. HEAL presentations cover topics on nutrition, exercise, preventive medicine, metabolic balance and sensible personal habits. Attendees will learn crucial facts and figures about aging and age-related illnesses as well as recommendations for a healthier lifestyle.

Health Fairs
As part of KLRI's community outreach efforts, we participate in several local health fairs to raise awareness about KLRI and current issues surrounding aging and disease prevention.
